Default Lvl 20 can be noobs sometimes.

LOL, so Iim with this team of noobs, all lvl 20 except me...i was a 14 at elonas. So i skipped some missions. Anywho, 2 proclaim Kick the 14! which they did not LOL. why kick me? They have no idea this then lvl 13 fought from Draknors to coppermines to Granite Citidel with henchies and died twice doing that. Kick me for having a low lvl and must have crap armor? well yes i have less health BUT! the noobies had gay armor, I had the 15k platemail with a superior Vigor superior absorption AND a +40 and +28 health from sword and shield. tisk, sad indeed. So when ur with ppl who like to rush missions as they stated upon entering "lets just rush it." I guess they expect to live like that LOL! 2 died b4 me and I picked up the fallen crystal from the dead guy and finish the first section for the cut scene. Then I see the monk try to tank as a point man and was like WTF? so i run into try and help him, I get hammered with life syphon and other stuff and sadly was the only one taking dmg. ??? I had WAY better armor than them so i know i was the only target here. (did the AI see my armor as biggest threat and target me first? does it do that? I think it targets biggest threat, monks are always first.)

promtly, one of the noobs replies..."first to die" so i left cause with a team of lvl 15's with any skill could beat it way easier. these guys were destined to die. I won with my lvl 13 monk and henchies.

When will ppl learn it aint about lvl, it is about who has the best crap and who has a brain stem to realize in battles, it is unwise to rush in. I fought to granite with patience! not running! (PvP is diffrent, u really need to know the quirks, what to use and what not so that is stratagy at least.)

Share your experiences of playing with higher lvl noobs

I hear ya. I made it to Copper mine with henchines on my lvl 12 warrior. When Istarted doing the Draknar's forge missions ppl wouldn't want to team with me becase I was a lvl 12.

Yet I was doing better than most other people. The armor kept me safe. I doged in and out of battle as needed. In fact I wasd out playing some lvl 20 warriors.

I've been out with a Level 20 Monk who called everyone else on the team Noobs (despite us all being Level 20s) because he was ranked 1st in PvP, then proceeded to tank every group of enemies we encountered ahead of our warriors.

He died horribly, then just shouted "Rez Rez Rez", so we ignored him and he left. What a mallard. I'd rather go out questing with people who are lower levels but aren't morons any day of the week.

i already typed up a story on another forum but i'll copy and paste it here too since it relates to the thread topic. it's a long one...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

i was looking for a group to do the mission and bonus for bloodstone fen and i ended up with 3 lvl 20s... 2 of them being warriors and one being an elem, and they all were in the same guild. the rest of the group was me (lvl 15 r/n), lvl 18 r/mo and a lvl 16 monk.

so the mission started and the group was totaly silent through out the whole mission. when it was time to do the bonus i said...

"alright, for anyone who's new to this mission, don't kill the guardians because it will fail the bonus" (i also said this at the beginning of the mission as well)

i didn't get a reply at all...

then i looked at the mini map and noticed that the 3 level 20s were way ahead. wasn't too worried cuz i expected at least one of them to be experienced, then suddenly i see "bonus failed"

but that didn't stop them... they kept going and trying to finish the bonus so i said

"this is pointless, we failed the bonus, let's just go back to the mission"

and i FINALLY got a reply from one of them... and that reply was "why did we fail it?"

i ignored the question and we just continued on with the mission.. one of the lvl 20s left on the way and i thought to myself "oh great they were probably only here for bonus and the other 2 are going to leave in a couple of seconds" but to my surprise they actually stayed.

when we got to hablion everyone but 1 person(wasn't me) didn't skip the cutscene before we fight him... the lvl 20s flipped out over this and they insisted on us to skip the end cinematics as well, but they refused to help against hablion. after the ranger, monk and i beat hablion and his group all by ourselves... the end cinematic triggered... and it said "4 out of 5 wanted to skip this cinematic"... i noticed that this time i was the one that didn't choose to skip... so i just sat back and enjoyed the show

Lol, nice one. No more than they deserved - people with superiority complexes have no place in dedicated teams who actually want to complete missions/bonuses.

yeah i beat ice caves with hencies at lvl 11 and when i got to the desert, everyone was like 'lvl 11?' i usally survied better than most of them, and once my common sense to run when losing saved them team by me rezing the monk.really lvl doesnt matter, its knowledge of the game.

i had faced rejection, even monks refusing to heal me.maybe il forget to blind and poison those forgoten champions when theyre killing our monks.(also i was the only one who wanted to bring a mes to beat that monk boss in thirsty, everyone else said it was stupid.we fought him for half an hour and the lost.people underestimate a good mes or necro)

Ok. I think about it all like this.

Say you're lvl 11 at Elonas. And say there's a lvl 20 who wants to join. In terms of Att.points, you are 40+75=115 Att. Points behind the lvl 20.

I've beein in groups where I let the low level stay, and while they don't die as often....they often don't do anything. I mean, their dmg output tends to be crap in comparison, and they often "weave in and out of battle" AKA run away when it gets tough, wasting a slot where I could have had a stronger player.

I've kicked a low level out and they proceeded to slandar me and my party over and over again for about 15 minutes. Oh, how mature and skilled players they are. I'm sure they could get in any team they want *sigh*.

I went to the desert at lvl 16 with my monk, which is reletively low for me. I normally max out before then. Well, I get a lot of people telling me I'm a great healer, however, I go back at lvl 20 (just by doing some quests in old ascalon) and I'm far better than I was. I had more staying power, more att points, and I was overall, more effective.

Basically: You can be GOOD at lvl 12 or so. You'd be WORTHWHILE if you bothered to level like the rest of us.

On my new Monk (to fight inflation, of course!), I was doing Dune's of Dispair mission. After failing it several times because at least one person had to rush the group into a bunch of fights or aggro that huge group of minotaurs at the beginning, I ran into this group proclaiming "Leetness" and a "guaranteed win" because they were high level PvP players. I though to myself, "Like that will attract anyone. PvP skill has little to nothing to do with knowledge of how these missions work." Nonetheless, the were searching for a monk and gave me an invite, which I accepted because I really wanted to get the Desert over with.

I told them right at the beginning that there is no point in rushing and to keep the pulls small. There is no point in rushing a relatively easy mission if all it takes is a bit of patience. The whole time, the party leader is raving about how good his Guild is and how its rating is so superior and blah, blah, blah. After a few minutes, I told the egotistical jerk to, politely, "Cease speaking of his Guild because, frankly, no one cares."

We get through pretty much unscathed. No one died, everything is good. . . until we get to the "Hold the Altar while under Assault" part. Nothing goes as it is supposed to. Everyone of them clumps together and attacks random targets and is pulverized by the Seige Wurms. Mind you, these were all level 17-20 people who claimed to be the best, flaunted their Guild rank status, their PvP /rank, and all that jazz.

I was reduced to running like mad to try and kite anything off onto a tank so that the damage could be properly stopped, yet, they stayed on me because, apparently, the tanks and other melee fighter felt that I, as a caster with low armor, should be able to handle disrupting hammer warriors and archers by myself. . .

In the end, I ran back up the ramp so I could stay out of damage range and recover my depleted energy pool so that at least a few of them would survive. . . and the party leader fired off a quick: "Damn noob Monk."

Timer down to the 2 minute marker and I snapped. Noob? Me? I just kept you alive for the entire mission, healed you time and time again when you stayed rooted in place and nobely took barrage after barrage of fire from too many sources to count and yet you call me the noob? I don't think so. Healing for this guy ended instantly and he dropped like a fly.

It made me mad that I had went with this guy and his group even though my intuition had told me he would be just another idiot. If you fail a mission because you kept the tempo too high or took on too many at once, chances are highly likely that you, yourself, are the reason why you failed, not the monk or anyone else for that matter. If you find the time mid-battle to chew out someone for not doing their job, you aren't doing yours and were never doing it in the first place.

Edit: By the way, level really has nothing to do with anything. Attribute levels aside, people can be effective at lower levels in later missions so long as they are careful. I would take an efficient low level player with a good knowledge of the mission over a brute force player any day.

I've had some random encounters with n00bs who thought "level 20" meant "l33t skilzors". Allow me to allaborate:

- At the Iron Mines, one guy enters the group (which I was the leader of) at the level of 19. He starts getting flamed and I start getting non-stop requests to boot him, because "He hasn't ascended yet". Yeah, I basically called "Bull Pucky" and kept him on. Yeah, 1 level makes soooo much diference. So we beat the mission after one of the lvl 20's hits the road, and the lvl 19 guy survived longer than any of us. Heh.

- Elona Reach. Yeah, I've never found a more highly concentrated pile of stupid at any other location, bar none. I don't care what level they are, around half the people there at any given time are morons. And yes, I'm bitter.

- Last mission before Ring of Fire, we've got 2 trappers in the group, myself included. Both of us were rendered useless when one particular Warrior Primary forgot what a "trap" was and how it worked.

- Waiting at the Temple of Ages getting a group together for Villainy of Galrath so I could help out my Guild leader, we get a lvl 20 who sees my level 18 and orders my Guild leader to boot me or he leaves. Oh, by the way, I'd already completed the mission. Twice.

No, I learned early on that "OMG L33T LVL 20!!1!one" doesn't actually mean anything.

Level20 means nothing if it can be achieved in one day without any real effort.

How to hit L20 in under 1-day

Well maybe people like me who have 4 characters don't want to grind the storyline 4 times. If I can do it in a day that's fine with me.

lvl 20 has never meant anything. It's just a lvl cap. Nothing special.
